If you could stop your aging indefinitely, would you?

Posted on Jun 7th, 2007 by Nathaniel : Transcendental Transient Nathaniel
This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for June 06, 2007:

I would stop my aging if I could. If given the gift of immortality I would ammass as much knowlege as I could. In fact, I see my lifespan as the only real limitation when it comes to gaining knowlege. I would learn as much as I could and I would apply it in everything I do.

I would also take the oppurtunity to develop my own breed of dog (which I want to do anyway... but with an extended lifespan I could have better control over the direction the breed takes).

I would put much research into the methuselah mouse project and not just produce a mouse that had an extended lifespan, but a strain of mice that lived much longer than average. Granted, this is kind of backwards because the technology used to extend my own lifespan would likely be produce through what is learned from that same project.

I don't fear death. I came to terms with my own mortality at a very young age. I see our lifespans as limitations that can be overcome. With that being said, I wouldn't mind waiting until I'm in my 30's to stop aging... right now my metabolism is still very high (I look like a bean pole). I could use the slightly slower metabolism that a few more years would bring.
